I want to share with ya'll my favorite pizza spot in town. Parking's a bear, and it ain't too pretty on the outside, but Pizz'a Chicago has, hands down, the best pizza I've eaten since moving to San Jose. (Really, I just need your company as an excuse to go back.)

I can't think far past stuffing hot cheesy pizza into my mouth, but I'm guessing we can rustle up some entertainment afterwards for interested folks. There's twenty odd bars/clubs/lounges within walking distance - failing that, I'd be perfectly happy to get back into my car, drive down to South 1st street, and play pool at SOFA 'til they kick us out. And/or we could stroll down to Camera Cinema 12 and soak in the ridiculousness that is Harold and Kumar II, as it will have opened the week before. Take our poll to let me know which of those sounds good to you.

p.s. That is an actual photo from Pizz'a Chicago that I took last time I was there. Real deal.

p.p.s. They're making me put down a $100 security deposit for bringing a large group, and I'm still gonna host us there - just so you know how serious I am about the place.

p.p.p.s. Don't break anything, mmmkay? I'd like my deposit back.

COST: Please bring, at a minimum, $25 in small bills. Please bring more if you will be drinking alcohol. Small bills help us split the check easier. When I called they were emphatic about only giving us one check, so let's make it easy on everyone and bring fives, tens, and ones. If we go to the movies, they take plastic. The pool hall charges by the table/hour, so if we go there, you will need additional cash to chip in for the table cost. Their bar takes plastic.

PARKING: In this part of downtown, it's largely streetside unless you park several blocks over in a garage and walk. If we're going to end up further south at the pool hall or the cinema, it wouldn't hurt to park down there and walk up. Do your research here: http://www.sjdowntown...

It was great fun. The only downside of the whole gathering was so many people showed up that I didn't get a chance to mingle with the other folks except the ones at my table. Otherwise it was good and great people. Next time I'll try and make it out after dinner.

I'm kinda surprised about the cost comments...I think for appetizers, gourmet pizza, drinks, tax, and tip for great service for accommodating a group as large as ours, that we did pretty excellent coming in for the price we did!

Great job Lindsey. It's always difficult to pull off a dinner event with so many people. I'm glad you came out ahead!

i will have data/maps/costs/hours for the movie, the pool hall, and the local bars/clubs. people can divide up depending on what they want to do. with a group this big, it's okay to break off into smaller groups.

FYI: all shared appetizers, pizza, dessert, sodas/water/juices will go on one bill and be split evenly among all. alcohol is on a separate tab, and that will be split among those who drink it however they choose to divide it. please be prepared for a flat split for the food. with this many people we need it to be as easy as possible!

Lindsey, you should put up a "spanking" event for those no-call-no-show-yes-rsvp hahaha (Oops, I forgot this is not the Reckless Group)

YOU MUST KEEP YOUR RSVP CURRENT. Every table and chair he puts into the back room for us is a table and chair he does not have out front for his regular customers, so I must keep him informed of how many people we actually have coming. I am calling him on May 1st with our final headcount. If you have a "Yes" RSVP at that point but do not show, I will be very unhappy with you!

Haven't been there in ages, but it truly is some of the best pizza around.

It was good pizza, I would have liked if everyone could have sat together rather than only sitting with 3 others in a booth. We also should have bought our own pizza's so that It was not $16 for two slices of pizza and a water. (poor college students cannot afford such dinners)
    •  Good tasting pizza, sorta squished in their, but that was ok. . . Cost too much for 2 slices of pizza.
    •  The pizza was good. Filling. The pieces were huge! :) Lindsey did a great job organizing! :)

Was great fun. With the number of people hard to meet everybody, but the people I did meet were a pleasure to get to know.
    •  The pizza was great as always. Terriffic idea for a dinner outting!
    •  Good pizza and great company! Awesome job Lindsey!
    •  Loved the pizza! Thanks Lindsey for organizing.
    •  Lindsey is a rock star. Great organization and great people!
    •  The food was great and so was the company. I had a wondeful time and look forward to hanging out with everyone again!
