In principle, I oppose speed-dating events that require an application without a written appeals process. Why show up to big promoted parties at, for example, Ana-Mandara, Suede, etc., when the bash is a really a bunch of smaller self-contained cliques? And, can someone honestly say that she got in line earlier enough to get the discounted door price? I'm sick of fighting with the gum-chewing hottie who never finds my name on the RSVP list. Where is the dignity in any of that? Am I any less beautiful because I don't know the DJ? A chill event. Fewer people. More conversation. Less gum. More potential. That's what I'm thinking... Let's do our part in the war against singledom.
