About The Rochester Singles Meetup Group

The intent and purpose of our group is both getting out to make new friends and opening up the potential to find that special someone. We only ask for the courtesy of representing yourself honestly and treating every group member with the same kindness and respect that you would expect to receive from them. If any should occur, please refer difficult matters within the group to your group organizer.

We aren't like other dating sites on the internet. Match.com, Cupid.com, PlentyOfFish.com, and others are designed to help you meet and interact with people via email or IM before meeting in person. Our group is a social group where you are encouraged to come to events in person, meet new people, make friends, and possibly find someone special. In most cases, you'll develop friendships before you ever contact anyone via email. We typically have at least two events per week and we strongly encourage you to come out and join us!

Also, even if you do meet someone through the group or by other means, we would still encourage you to come to the events and to bring your new significant other with you. We do have many couples in the group that continue to develop friendships by coming to the events and meeting other group members. Our group isn't just about singles meeting other singles, many have joined so they can expand their circle of friends too.
