Update to Saturday. We have the loft upstairs in the front reserved for our group for dinner. There are also pool tables up there as well. The person we spoke to was not sure who the band would be in the back area, however there will also be a live DJ and Karaoke in the front bar area. Hey Everybody, Four years ago, January 3 2006, Terry, Dale, Myself and Brian ( the last of whom, almost instantaneously fulfilled his illustrious quest) decided to make Meetup our plan of attack on introducing ourselves and others to some of Rochester's World of Singles !!! One month later, Saturday, February 4, 2006, a record breaking 35 people joined us for an awesome time at Pineapple Jack's, which immediately became one of our favorite venues. Four years from inception, with the added help along the way from Darrin, Don, Dawn, Tess, Lynn, Al, Diane, Kelly, Laurie, Nina, Dan, Maryann and our fearless new leader Bernie We're now well over 500 members strong. We try to always go back to our first meeting grounds, Pineapple Jacks and our 4th anniversary celebration will be no different!!!! I know this is right after New Years but it bound to be a great celebration of this group. We're expecting a very large turn out and if you have yet to come out for the first time, now is that time ! We're going to continue ringing in the New Year and yet another year of fun with quite the huge complement of Totally Awesome People !!! We'll be meeting there at about 7:30 for drinks, conversation and a bite to eat prior to enjoying the band, gaming ( pool, darts, video and lets not forget NYS lotto...) and very typically a night filled with even more wild conversation... Please try to arrive before 9:00 if you can, to avoid a cover charge for the band (usually $ 5.00). Pineapples is large and has 4 unique areas... A first floor bar and dinning, a lofted (balcony) area with dinning and games, a grandfathered, first floor "ventilated indoor smoking lounge" (with tables, bar and Games) and last but not least the Stage and Dance floor with yet another balcony (overlooking the stage) ... Gee's no wonder we love this place !!! Please indicate in your RSVP: dinner only, ... music/band only, ... or both ... I'm not sure of the band yet but will update this when I get the information I can't possibly over state just how much fun you'll have ...Please come out and enjoy a night with our gang !!! See ya there,

Ring In The New Year !! Our very own "Pyrotechnic" Mark, is opening his home once again to let us party till we drop~ good tunes and food, and best of all he's offered us the convenience of spending the night there if needed, instead of in jail after a DWI... He even mentioned something about doing breakfast with those who do stay the night ... What a Host huh ??? We will be collecting $5.00 each and can be paid to any organizer prior to the party. This cover Food, Pop, and a Raffle of several Door Prizes. It's Bring Your Own Alcoholic Beverages.... And plenty of refrigeration is available not to mention the outdoors (Brrrrr).... Anyone is welcome to also bring an appetizer to pass if they would like, if you do plan to do so, state what you will bring so we don't duplicate it. I'd just like to say for those who haven't attended, that parties at Mark's are an absolute riot... Mark's home is very accommodating in size and certainly did keep our largest crowd ever comfortable and smiling on Halloween. We'll email directions to all yes RSVP's, but please add my cell number # 585-329-7267 to your cell phone contact list in case you need help. Please indicate in your RSVP if you're thinking that you might like to spend the night. Feel free to email Mark with any pertinent questions and/or talk to an organizer as well. Only yes or no rsvp's will be allowed because this is Mark's home there is a cap of 100 people, if you plan on coming rsvp yes, if your plans change, PLEASE change your rsvp also. And as always, when we have events at someone's home please be respectful of their home and belongings. Hope to see you there

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is all the great music so lets go caroling at the Fleming Point Retirement home and share the joy. Not only will it be a fun afternoon but we can brighten someone's day. Maybe for our efforts we will be served cookies and hot chocolate :-) After the caroling, we will have an early dinner....details to follow.

*Please update or add to your RSVP whether or not you want to sit down and eat dinner, I will be letting the Restaurant know a week before this event how many people to expect to seat* Join us for Happy Hour in the Southwedge at Tap & Mallet. The Tap & Mallet is owned by Joe McBane and Casey Walpert. Joe is from England, and has lived in the United States since 2000. He managed The Old Toad for the first 7 years he was in the country. Casey opened The Bug Jar on Monroe Avenue and currently owns Mex on Alexander Street. We aim to be the best destination in Rochester for beer and pub food. We believe that having the best beer requires a balance between freshness and selection. We chose to limit our draft lines to 30 with the addition of 1 cask ale so that a fresh glass of beer can be guaranteed every time. The majority of our lines rotate so that there is always something new to try. Our inspiration for the menu comes from a love for food prepared from top quality fresh ingredients. Whether our guest wants dinner or just a snack they should always expect a range of flavors from around the world at an affordable price. The atmosphere is that of a contemporary pub. It is comfortable and welcoming to all. There is soft lighting and music that doesn't overwhelm. We want people to feel relaxed and at home. While we specialize in fine beers we understand that drinking beer is a truly enjoyable social past time. No one should ever feel bad about their choice of drink due to an elitist attitude. Many of our guests are interested in exploring new flavors and we are there to help and encourage them with their selections. Below is the link to their website: http://www.tapandmal let.com/ For help in locating the group, please call Kelly at 301-2786.
