No rating yet UPDATE #2: Games, Games, Games! We've added some fun games to the schedule! At 5:00 we'll have everyone get in teams of 2 for a 3-legged race! This one always looks easy until you try it :) Then at 6:30 we'll do the don't-drop-your UPDATE #1: We've lowered the price to $25!! You commented and we listened. We removed the wine and liquor from the bar, took away the bartenders, and made some other cut backs to bring the total cost down and keep the event more casual.....as a summer bbq should be! We'll bring in 5-6 kegs, and you're welcome to bring in your own liquor as well. Please just make sure you coordinate your driving plans. See you there! -- Summer's here!! Come on out, have a drink, have some roast pig, and relax under the sun! We've rented out a beautiful area in Great Falls VA from 4-8pm for our First Annual Luau Party. We will have a ROASTED PIG, Open Bar, Music, Decorations...and lots and lots of happy foolishness. "Roasted Pig?!" you say...well of course, what Luau would be complete without one! We have hired Chef Keoni, the Maryland Pig Roaster, to be on site with a whole roasted pig for your viewing and eating pleasure! And we'll be serving other food accompaniments to go with. http://www.mdpigroas We have a lot of grounds to play on....so feel free to bring a frisbee, horseshoes, or other fund outdoor games. We'll have bars setup both inside and outside. The DJ will be outside too, keeping us all rolling to sweet summer rhythms. Per fire code, we have LIMITED space. So be sure to RSVP early. We have an early bird special of $25 from now until July 25. After that tickets will go up to $35. Tickets include OPEN BAR and FOOD. Please note too the event will end at 8pm. Teams of two solve twelve clues, have a wild city adventure and complete fun challenges while discovering the city in a fresh way during a fun day. The Great Urban Race Washington D.C. will start and finish at Crystal City Sports Pub. Packet Pick-up: 11:00am - 11:55am Start Time: High Noon. 7 attended (est.) – No rating yet The Ultimate Egypt Adventure & Diving Experience Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Alexandria & Sharm el Sheikh Day 2: Cairo: Arrive in Cairo, visit the Egyptian Museum, including the Mummies Room. We’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at El Azhar Park on a mountain overlooking Old Cairo. Day 3: Cairo: Half-day guided tour to the Great Three Pyramids in Giza, and the Sphinx and a camel ride at the Pyramids. Afternoon visit to the necropolis of Sakkara and the ancient city of Memphis. Day 4: Cairo- Camping in the White Desert: Bahariya Oasis where we will drive across the dunes towards the black desert followed by a 4x4 jeep ride to visit the hot and cold spring in the small Bedouin village El Hez and then visit the Crystal Mountains. Followed by a camel ride to El Agabat and a chance to sleep ‘under the stars’ and a meal cooked by our Bedouin friends and share stories by the camp fire. Day 5: Cairo to Aswan (sleeper train): After breakfast visit the El Mushroom Valley. In the evening, we take the night train back to Cairo. Day 6: Aswan - Philae - Felucca- Nubian Village: Today we will tour the Philae temple and High Dam. We will enjoy lunch at hotel then go for a Felucca sailing trip around Aswan islands and Nubian Village. Day 7: Luxor- Edfu- Luxor: Drive to Luxor where we will Day 8: West Bank- Valley of the Kings- Luxor: We will enjoy over the West Bank, Tour the West Bank, donkey ride to the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatsheepsut’s Temple, Colossi of Memmnon and Ramsum, and Karnak Temple. Day 9: Luxor- Sharm El Sheikh: Transfer to Luxor Airport where we fly to Sharm el Sheikh. Afternoon quad runner and Bedouin lunch. Day 10: Sharm El Sheikh: Day 11: Sharm El Sheikh: Day 12: Cairo: Morning drive to Cairo, afternoon and overnight in Cairo. Day 13: Alexandria: Day 14: Montazah: Tour Montazah, Gardens, Roman Amphitheater, and Jewelry Museum. Farewell Gala Party on Nile Maxim with Belly Dancing. Day 15: Cairo – Fly Home: Transfer to Cairo International airport for group flight back to JFK. Deposit: $300 deposit due before September 25th to hold your spot. Looking for something to do on a cold January evening. If so, please come out and join me for a night of fun at the Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse. We will meet in the lobby at 6:15pm. The Wine Night starts at 6:30pm and you will have the option to purchase wine tickets along with the normal restaurant and bar fare. The wine tickets costs $1.00 for 1oz pour and the movie tickets cost $5.50. Wine experts from the Washington Wine Academy will be on hand to discuss the select wines chosen for the event or talk about wines in general. Around 7:30pm we will take our very comfortable lounge style seats for the evenings viewing of the James Bond movie Quantom of Solace.
