This singles dinner get-together will be held Thanksgiving day in Albuquerque from 11:00 am till 3:00 p.m. The final directions and address will be sent in an e-mail to all those who have responded with a "yes" RSVP. One of our members has graciously offered to have the event at the clubhouse at her Northeast Albuquerque Townhome location. She is fronting the reservation and clean up deposit, but we will all need to assist with the clean up after the event. I am fronting the cost of the main meat course till the actual day of the dinner. The overall majority of those responding to the plan suggested that we purchase the ready made turkey and pot luck the trimmings and desserts. All attending may bring their own beverage for the meal and alcoholic beverages will be allowed in moderation, or you may drink of the few beverages provided. We will provide cups, ice, napkins, and plastic ware for the dinner, hot coffee and chilled water. We will charge $3.00 per single or guest (payable when you arrive for the dinner) plus you are asked to bring an item from the attached pot luck listing. The $3.00 will cover the cost of the turkey, rolls and butter, coffee and dinner plates, plastic ware, etc. For vegetarians, there should be quite a selection of other items.
It will be nice to get together with other singles for this wonderful fall holiday and give thanks for all our friends, health and good things that have come our way (including Meet-Up groups!) If would like to attend this event and enjoy dinner with other Albuquerque singles please respond with your RSVP of "yes" at this time.
Please provide your "yes" RSVP and select an item from the attached list and let us know what item you will be bringing so that we will remove it from the list to eliminate duplication of too many of the same item. Deadline for sign up is 21 November so that can get our turkey order in on time.
As noted in a previous e-mail please bring your finest prepared pot luck item or visit a deli or bakery to prepare your contribution. (No bags of chips or bagged store bought cookies please) The attire for the event will be neat causal, no cutoffs or flip flops, etc. please.
We are open to other suggestions, of where to go or what to do after dinner (like walk two miles :0) to work off the great dinner, or go to a movie or other local event, art show, performance, the zoo or botanical gardens etc.) So, if you are single and don't have any plans for this Thanksgiving holiday, lets get our plan together and enjoy the holiday!
