The chance that some of the people on the waiting list get to play are good so please do so if you didn't get to rsvp yes.

We have come to an agreement with NM Sports and Wellness. We will need to fill out COMPLETELY the front side only of the guest registration card. You will only need to do this one time. After that, you will only need to fill out the roster each week. Mike, the Manager of the site, assures me this information will not be sold to third parties and will only be kept on file for 3 years. You will need to bring your id and pay the $5 at the front desk and make sure you get a receipt. Mike has reserved court 8 up through March 31st so let the games begin!

Walleyball is volleyball in a racquetball court.

The cost is $5 per person with a minimum court fee of $50.

We will reserve only one (1) court from 7:30 to 9:30.

We must limit the attendees to 12.

Please make changes to your response as early as possible. If you RSVP yes, please make sure you attend as we need an accurate head count to pay for the court. After the response limit is met people wishing to sign up will be placed on a waiting list and it will be first come first served for replacements if anyone changes from "yes" to "no."

If you are bringing guests, please make sure to include them when you sign up so we can get an accurate head count.

THANKS TO NM SPORTS AND WELLNESS FOR CONTINUING TO WORK WITH US!

All levels are welcome but this is not a game for the timid. Rules are simple:

Oh My! With the cold local weather last Monday night it made you feel if you were sitting in Green Bay for the game. This week will be a little warmer. It’s between Arizona Cardinals (8-4) and San Francisco 49ERS (5-7). Shall we cheer for the neighbors or for a west coast upset? Game time is 6:30, so get there early for something to eat and a good seat.

For dinner tonight I’ll order party size pizzas from Venezia’s. One jumbo slice will fill you up, so I’ll bet you can’t eat 3 slices. (Don’t try it Jim) I’ll order 3 one topping pizzas, enough for 24 people. If we need another pizza, we’ll order it.
Price for dinner is $4. ($2 for each extra slice.) There will also be popcorn available (for a donation) during the game and evening. There is no door fee for non members on Mondays, just the price of the meal.

Remember, this is a cash only bar for any beverage. No credit or debit cards please.

See you there

We will be going in the side door on the Northeast side of the building, so park directly in front of the building on the north side. The building is usually closed on Saturdays, but the lady in charge of operations is going to be there to let us in. Call Ali if you have any questions, or get lost (967-0100)

Susan's Legacy prefers the gifts not be wrapped.

Susan's Legacy is a non-profit organization that provides supportive housing to women with co-occurring disorders. Learn more about them at http://www.susanslegacy.org. They need Christmas gifts for the women and children who are their clients. Below is the list of families that need assistance and a list of what they need or would like. If we can get enough people to participate in purchasing parts of their request, then each of us could donate a small contribution. Of course if you want to donate a more expensive item, that would be great too. Another option is to contribute an amount towards a specific request. If you have any questions about the gifts you want to give please contact me. Please put in your RSVP what you will be contributing by family and name so that no one purchases duplicate items and everyone gets something. On December 12th we will meet at Susan's Legacy to bring the gifts to the organization to be distributed at a later date. The executive director will also share with us a little about their organization. They are extremely grateful for this effort. The location for us to meet on the 12th is 3900 Osuna Rd. NE, near Jefferson/Osuna. They are in the Adelante building.

Save your receipts if you want to get a tax deduction. Susan's Legacy will provide it on the 12th. I also may be able to post pictures when they receive the gifts. More to come on that. Per Ali at Susan's Legacy...We are always accepting used clothing, for women, babies, kids... (We get new clients in who have absolutely nothing, so we accept all donations...furniture, towels...anything and everything!!)

Join other singles as we hop aboard the Rail Runner (train) to Santa Fe for a day of fun, adventure, shopping and lunch, then return to town. Enjoy the vista as we travel through centuries of New Mexico history in style to the “City Different” aboard the sleek conveyance that gets you there on time without all the parking issues and stress. We will plan to meet at the downtown Rail Runner station at 9:15 a.m. (no later) to board the train that leaves at 9:36 a.m. (others may get on the same train at stops north along the way and join us also). Remember to dress warm and wear waterproof shoes, gloves, scarf, cap and (long handles) to stay cozy (as Santa Fe may have snow). We will arrive in SF around 11:06 a.m. then, take the "free" shuttle a few blocks to downtown. There we will window shop and maybe even do some of our Christmas shopping. Skipper will serve as our tour guide as he knows a fair amount of history and some nice inexpensive places to shop. On the train ride up we may decide where to go for lunch. We plan to board the return train from SF leaving there at 6:30 p.m. and arriving in ABQ round 8:04 p.m.. Get in the Christmas spirit and get on board the fun train to the “City Different.”
Note: The round trip train ticket fee if purchased on line is $7.00, if purchased on the train the cost is $8.00. This plus the cost of lunch will make for low cost adventure in Santa Fe.

Are you saying, "wow! it almost Christmas, and I still don’t have any plans to enjoy the holiday"? Well, why not plan on doing something different. And, where better to do that something different but in the “City Different” itself, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Join other singles at a planning meeting on Friday 11 December, 6:00 p.m. downtown at the Flying Star Restaurant, 723 Silver Ave. S.W. 87102, (silver and 8th street S.W.) for coffee/dinner and planning conversation for this event. The general plan is to travel up to Santa Fe (we can carpool) on Christmas Eve (day) around noon. Check into our designated hotel. Have a wine a cheese party around 3 or 4pm and select a place to have Christmas Eve dinner in downtown Santa Fe.
Then around 5:30p.m. Venture down to the city square to watch Christmas come alive as thousands of traditional farolitos (bagged candles w/sand) are lit. We can Christmas carol in the square and help others enjoy the music of the season. Then we can take a short walk over to Canyon Road and do the traditional Christmas gallery tour and venture in and out of galleries to keep cozy as we gather with others and warm up more at the several lumanarias, (small pinon bond fires) lit along the way to sing Christmas carols. If this idea of the Christmas adventure has wet your appetite for more, join us on the 11th of December. (The actual event for Christmas would be limited to around 20 to 30 singles), but the planning event is open to all.
Here is our plan to stay in Santa Fe Christmas Eve. Mildred has come up with a great package and a heck of a good deal to stay downtown at the Santa Fe Hilton and at an unheard of rate plus much more! You’ve got to hear this. The standard rate is between $199.00 and $200.00+ (plus) a night (check in on the web). The rate she has secured for us is only $139.00 (plus tax for a total of $159.95). Now here are the details of this great deal. It’s Christmas right, and Santa Fe is a buzz with tourists, but in addition to this great rate, there will be no standard deposit charge, they have waived the secured parking fee, so it is free parking with our package. The amount above is for two individuals in a room (so divided by two, the cost if very reasonable) the rooms have a queen bed or two doubles, (whichever you specify) then she got them to throw in a “free” full breakfast buffet (not continental breakfast of just sweet rolls and coffee). In addition on Christmas day we planned to drive north from Santa Fe to Buffalo Thunder Casino for a visit and lunch. Being that it too is a Hilton property we are entitled to a free shuttle there and back, so that will save gas, driving time and parking issues at the casino on Christmas day. (Mildred is very familiar with booking hotels etc, as she does this at her day job, so she knows how to “wheel and deal” and I think she hit the jackpot for us here! Best of all the Hilton downtown Santa Fe is a block or two away from the plaza and very close to all the places we are planning to visit on Christmas Eve and when we go out to eat Christmas Eve dinner. The other major benefit of this location is that if we imbibe at dinner or on our walking tour, we won’t have to drive (after drinking) back to our hotel. But to get this great rate you will have to call the hotel at the number listed here (505) 988-2811 or the Hilton General Reservations number at 800-445-8667. We must call no later than 15 December to get this deal and specify that you are calling to make reservations for this special package she arranged for us. Tell the receptionist that you are with the “Santa Fe Christmas” group and they will honor the above listed rate. Mildred got them to reserve 15 rooms for us,(that number of rooms can accommodate up to 30 people). If anyone decides to stay an extra day they will honor this rate for you for a total of two days, after then it goes back to the regular rate of $200.00+(plus) and no extras as we are getting with our package. So, check now and e-mail your buddy’s and girlfriends and have them join you for our Santa Fe adventure, and enjoy the Christmas Holiday in real style, after all it’s only Christmas once a year! So come join in the planning or just to have coffee. But if you are looking for something new, different and exciting to do this Christmas this might be it, so come and find out more details! This is a cross posted event with the Singles Boomers Group.
