About The Phoenix Singles

UPDATE

As you may have noticed we are now The Phoenix Singles. We have decided to take off the Adventure & Exploration part of the name as it was just too much of a mouthful. We will still do all kinds of adventurous events. The only thing that has changed is the name of the group. Hope this change makes it easier for people to remember who we are.

Welcome to The Phoenix Singles Adventure & Exploration Group

This group is all about making new friends and having a great time. We are one of the most active groups in Phoenix which has led to us becoming a very popular group. As of now we have three organizers (Harry, Mark, Jennifer and Mike) who all work very hard to make this a great group. We also have several members (too many for me to name here) that host events for the group. The purpose of this group is creating a place where new friendships can be made. After all why did we all join Meetup to begin with? So we hope you will join our goup and come to the events. We only have some very simple rules we ask people to follow. We use to have a policy of never removing anyone out of the group (to this date no one has ever been removed). That will be changing in the future as the group is getting too large and some behavior will not be tolerated. Our rules are very simple and really just common sense (then again common sense to one isn't the same to everyone else so here we are having to spell it out).

RSVP'ing for an event - The host of the event goes thru alot of trouble to host an event the least you can do is show up if you RSVP Yes. The worse thing is when we only allow a certain number of members to attend and someone RSVP's yes and doesn't show up. That is preventing someone who would have liked to attend from going to the event. Also we recently had this happen: one of our members was kind enough to open their home for a pool party but we limited to only a certain number of people. The event filled up rather fast so we raised the number of people allowed to come. People were calling and emailing the host asking if they could come and they said yes even though the event was full. Now in the comments on the RSVP people wrote what they were going to bring to share with everyone. I am sure you can see where this is going. Alot of the people didn't show up so there wasn't enough food for those that did. Not to mention alot of people that wanted to come didn't because they couldn't RSVP. So if the organizers of the group see a pattern of you RSVP'ing to events they will change your RSVP to NO when the event is full and you will not be allowed to attend those events. If it continues you will be removed from the group. I personally find it funny that when I look at some profiles it says a member has been to 12 events and yet I or any of the other organizers have ever met them.

Dating - We are all single here and love is in the air. With that said this is not a dating site where you should be spamming for dates. This is something I just will never understand. If you are looking for a relationship why not come to an event and meet people. This venue is a great way to meet people without the pressure of dating. So if you are just joining so you can e-mail members for dates don't bother. You can and will be removed from the group if someone complains about this and you would be surprised how many complain.

Act like an Adult - Shocked we have to tell people this. When you come to an event act like an adult. We are not in high school anymore. What does that mean? Don't gossip. Don't spread rumors. Don't make out with someone at an event. We are not teenagers anymore.

The most important thing is for everyone to have an awesome time.

If you have any questions or issues please feel free to contact any of the organizers of the group.

Have an awesome day and thanks for taking the time to read this.
