Subject: Limited free tickets for Sunday Film Premiere
Emmy & Tony Award nominated actress Tovah Feldshuh narrates a new documentary film about a little known World War II Jewish armed resistance group that will be the subject of a major Hollywood film later this year.
On Sunday, April 13, 2008 The Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation will be premiering our new short film, A Partisan Returns: The Legacy of Two Sisters.
On September 23, 1943 two-hundred and fifty Jews crawled through a handmade 750-foot tunnel fleeing a German work camp, where they were forced to work as slave labor for the Nazi War machine. Many of those who escaped then joined the largest all-Jewish armed resistance group of World War II, helping contribute to the fall of the Nazis and their collaborators. The story of these resistance fighters will be explored this December in the World War II epic ?Defiance? from Director Ed Zwick (Blood Diamond, Glory) and based on the book of the same name. Daniel Craig, of Bond fame stars alongside Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell in the Paramount Vantage release.
Two members of this resistance group were sisters, Rae Kushner and Lisa Reibel and their remarkable story is finally being told. Sunday, April 13, 2008 at the Directors Guild Theater in New York marks the world premiere of A Partisan Returns: The Legacy of Two Sisters. The film is narrated by Broadway and television star, Tovah Feldshuh. ?Their story of escape and survival is truly incredible. I am inspired by their courage,? says Feldshuh. Attending this special invitation-only screening will be the only surviving sister, Lisa Reibel as well as the film?s producer and director, Mitch Braff of the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation (JPEF ) www.jewishpartisans.org. This is Braff?s 9th film on Jewish resistance fighters during World War II.
We have a limited number of tickets. Please join us for what is sure to be an incredible afternoon at the Directors Guild of America Theater, 110 West 57th st ( at 6th Ave.) . The film and program start at 5pm.
Please RSVP to adamkluger@yahoo.com if you are interested in attending.
