Soul Music. For many, those 2 words conjure up thoughts of singers and musicians of a bygone era. Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Donny Hathaway...I can go on and on. Ask those same people about today's Soul Music artists, they get stuck on Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.

Now, as great as both Jill and Erykah are, they are just the tip of the iceberg. Because of the limited exposure that today's Soul Music receives, many who would appreciate the music, are unaware that there is a whole world of Soul that desperately needs their support to survive.

Yes, The Soul Movement is in full effect and you all are an active part of it.

Besides our regular monthly meetups, my hope is that we share music with one another, as well as information on new artists on the scene, events, shows, trips and all things soulful. I hope to keep our calender full of activities that provide us the opportunity to vibe on this music and have some fun while we do. I definitely look forward to hearing your sugestions and sharing "Top 10 Favorite..." lists with y'all.

All are welcome in this group, no matter what your level of knowledge of this music is. I only ask that you have a genuine love for this music. We will all learn and be enlightened by each other.
